Sitting on Blackbeard's Hill, in the center of Charlotte Amalie, this is one of the best run and most comfortable small inns to open in town in many a year. The little inn lies only a 5-minute walk from the center of town, with all its shops, restaurants, and bars. Magen's Beach is a 10-minute drive over the hill.

The midsize bedrooms, decorated in a tropical motif with wicker furnish-ings, have panoramic views of the harbor, the constantly arriving cruise ships, and the other Virgin Islands. You have a choice of a king-sizeor queen-size bed, and each room features a tiled bathroom with shower. The helpful managers live on the property.

Staff is excellent, professional, and, above all, kind. Room was wonderful and very well prepared for the time we spent here. Obvious why a Fodor's Choice!

This hotel is very informative and really ensures that everyone has a good time.

We enjoyed the gorgeous view and comfortable accommodations here. We loved the host, Bill, and hostess, Susie!

Thank you for such an awesome experience. The Green Iguana was more than I expected, loved the view, location, and convenience it provided.

Hope to return to St. Thomas next year and stay longer.

We were very happy with the value and view of the hotel.

Susie and Bill were so helpful and accomodating!

That made my stay so enjoyable!

I'm reluctant to praise The Green Iguana too much for fear of it becoming too popular. What a relaxing and quaint find, just five-ten minutes walk to downtown shopping.

Beware, it is a steep walk down the famous "99 steps" which my kids have decided is actually 104 steps. The rooms were clean, the atmosphere was relaxing and the management was very accommodating. We'll be back!

This is a great place to spend your holiday! It's very convenient to downtown - just a few steps down the hill.

Bill and Susie are great hosts who can give you great advise on local food, beaches and entertainment.

The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. They had everything we hoped for and more. We will certainly be back, and recommend it to all our friends and business associates.

I went to St. Thomas for my birthday, and had the time of my life. Not only was the Green Iguana the best hotel I have ever stayed at, the managers, Susie and Bill made me feel like family.

I will definitely stay here again when I return to the islands.

The managers, Susie and Bill, are the most accommodating hosts we have ever encountered. The hotel is clean and - thanks to these managers - well cared for.

Our stay on the island would not have been as much fun if not for these well informed island hosts. Centrally located, it is five minutes from town central, ten minutes from Hull and Magens Bay, and 15 minutes from the first tee at Mahogany Run Golf Club.

What more can one ask for?

Our recent stay at the Green Iguana was better than being at home because someone else was taking care of us so we could go out and have fun.

The room was very clean and recently updated. The hosts, Bill and Susie (and their staff) were very professional and accommodating. The hotel was close to town, with great restaurants and shopping available. It was also a short drive to Magens Bay-the most beautiful beach we have ever seen.

We would definitely stay here again.

We were here for ten days or so.Not only was the view great from our room, but they let us borrow all kinds of supplies which saved us a ton of money.

We had a blast. We went snorkeling and were able to pack a lunch (they lent us a cooler), and our room was air conditioned and clean. I miss Suzie and Bill, and I want to go back!

This is a clean and well appointed inn. It is quiet, peaceful, and within a five-minute walk from the center of Charlotte Amalie Harbor.

Here you'll find great balcony views, and Bill and Susie are wonderful and
helpful hosts. They are super people.

Green Iguana Hotel offers lots of bang for the buck. I wish all innkeepers paid as much attention to detail and were as conscientious as the McCarthys.

My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the Green Iguana. We were very satisfied with our room and the view. The balcony was wonderful! Thanks to Susie and Bill!

The managers are the most hospitable you will ever find. The location is right in the middle of everywhere, and the rooms are clean. There were iguanas everywhere, but none were too scary.

Our stay was truly enjoyable and, yes, we will be back.

This is a delightful place to stay on the island. It is walking distance to Charlotte Amalie. Also, Susie and Bill will make your stay great!

Susie and Bill McCarthy are probably the most accommodating hosts we have ever known.

Our room was lovely with a view of Charlotte Amalie Harbor. The 99 (really 102) steps were enough exercise to allow enjoyment of the good food downtown. It was a great vacation.

If you don't have a car at your disposal, try to get a handle on cab rates per person before you get to St. Thomas.

Green Line

Susie and Bill are the most friendly, helpful, and thoughtful hotel operators I've ever come across.

My top floor room was clean and quiet with a comfortable bed and a nice view. The location was convenient for walking to and from town via the 99 steps, so you're not solely dependent on cabs.
